proposal for MA show in July
I want to take further my ideas around representations of landscape capturing, containing and preserving memory; of something tangible serving as a vessel for intangible feelings and memories. Tactility is important to me - particularly the haptic, or visual sense of touch - as a way to invite engagement with my work and offer a more complete or visceral experience to the viewer. My ideas are not fully developed, but I want to create an installation of multiple ceramic tiles that bear impressions of woodcut plates, suggesting landscape and containing within them moments of personal significance. I also want to show some more traditional - that is, paper-based - prints; and to revisit the idea of containing moving image or audio within a box or vessel for safekeeping.
